It's All About the Goat

Sorry about the inactivity. I've been crazy busy keeping up with the Holiday Men. Only six pages and a front and back cover to go...pray for me.

The above piece was done for the local magazine BEATROUTE, a part of my current crusade to build connections in town and perhaps one day make some mula for all these sleepless nights drawing pictures. It features the band THE BREEDERS, the lead singers of which are the twin sisters Kim and Kelley Deal. One of then was a Pixie. I always forget which.

I can't say I'm entirely pleased with the final result, (the Deal sisters don't look much like this at all) but I do like the colors. Originally, the mountain goat was huge, stealing all of the attention away from the band, so I had to shrink him a bit. Well, a lot. I didn't want people to get excited thinking they were going to read a great article about Mountain Goats and then realize they were reading a CD review. He's my fave part of this piece.
That bass player up there, Mando I think his name is, is a friggin ghost. The only pic I could find of him for reference was this small shot of him looking down and away. Curse you, Mando! One day I will know your face!

Anyways, the Breeders new CD, MOUNTAIN BATTLES, drops this April. (Y'see that? How it's called "Mountain Battles" and I drew the band in the mountains? Yep, I'm a genius.)

EDIT: You may be wondering why I went with such a bizarre color scheme. the answer: I didn't. Something is screwy with the pic, even though it looks fine on my desktop. "Miracle of technology" my ass...

The color may have gone outta whack because its in CMYK mode. Turn to RGB and it should be ok. The exact thing happened to me once. Cool Pic though, build those connections my friend.
Thanks for the comments over on my end as well.
